The Society of Women Artists (SWA) will present more than 450 works at London’s Mall Galleries next month.

Among those to feature in the exhibition will be Haddington’s Kate Henderson.

She said: “I am delighted that my work has been selected for this exhibition for the third successive year.

“This year, I am exhibiting stained glass pieces called Ebb and Flow.

“The SWA is a very historic and important society.

“It was founded in 1855 by courageous and talented women who were unable to exhibit in the male-dominated culture they were born into.

“Every generation of women since has taken the baton and run with it with an energy and determination that comes through in their vibrant and eclectic work today.”

Artwork on display from June 23 to 27 comes from both members and non-members.

Works will also be variety of oil paintings, watercolours, drawings, etchings, lithographs, screen prints, sculpture, ceramics, portraiture, landscapes, with a rich balance of large and small pieces, abstract and figurative, traditional and quirky.
