Spotify Wrapped has officially been released, and with it, a torrent of data revealing what the UK’s most-streamed artists, songs, and albums are.
A statement from the organisation revealed, “This year’s Wrapped For Artists experience is more intuitive than ever, with new data stories that give a deeper look into how an artist’s music resonated with listeners.”
In the UK, the artist who resonated the most with listeners was Taylor Swift. As expected after the release of her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, she took the top spot for the third year running.
Following Swift, the UK’s second most listened to artist was Drake, followed by Sabrina Carpenter, The Weeknd, and Billie Eilish. In sixth spot sits Kanye West, despite his deplorable public behaviour during the past 12 months.
Following the hip-hop star, Kendrick Lamar continues his successful year after nine Grammy nominations to take the seventh spot. Rihanna, Tate McRae and Ariana finish off the top ten most listened to artists in the UK.
Looking at a more granular level, the top song in the UK for 2025 was ‘Ordinary’, by Alex Warren, closely followed by ‘That’s So True’ by Gracie Abrams.
British singer-songwriter Lola Young took the third spot with her anthemic indie-pop ballad ‘Messy’, despite announcing that she is taking a break from music following a fainting spell on stage in New York earlier this year.
In the fourth spot, Chappell Roan’s ‘Pink Pony Club’ beat out Billie Eilish’s ‘Birds of a Feather’. In the tune of love songs, ‘Love Me Not’ by Ravyn Lenae took sixth spot, while ‘Back To Friends’ by Sombr followed on.
Taking the final three tops of the top ten most-listened-to songs in the UK, ‘Sailor Song’ by Gigi Perez came in eighth, while the global top song, ‘Die With A Smile’ by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, came in ninth. Another win for Roan rounded out the top ten, as her feel-good ‘Good Luck, Babe!’, as featured in the new movie Bugonia, came in tenth.
Over on the album chart, global pop icon Sabrina Carpenter took the cake for her 2024 album, Short n’ Sweet. Number one lyricist Alex Warren took the second spot with You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1).
In third place, Netflix sensation Kpop Demon Hunters came bounding in with the soundtrack from the record-breaking animated movie. Chappell Roan’s 2023 album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, still enjoys sustained success as it took the fourth spot on the album chart.
Tate McRae’s album So Close To What landed fifth, while Gracie Abrams sat at sixth spot with The Secret of Us. Unsurprisingly, Billie Eilish is in the album chart, achieving seventh spot with Hit Me Hard and Soft, while SZA’s deluxe version of SOS came in at eight.
Rounding out the top ten albums in the UK, Olivia Dean’s latest offering, The Art of Loving, lands at number nine, while the season of the sticks keeps on coming with Noah Kahan’s Stick Season, sitting squarely as the tenth most listened to album this year.
