
Eastleigh Borough Council has commissioned artist Nick Hornby to develop the large-scale artwork on Hound Parish Council land.
The piece will be funded by developer contributions, which are collected from local developments to go back to the area.
Over the next year, Mr Hornby will research the area’s history to inspire his design.

He employs experimental digital technologies that result in traditional objects made from resin, bronze, steel, granite and marble.
In 2024, he won the Public Statues and Sculpture Association’s Marsh Award for Excellence in Public Sculpture.
He is also a fellow and trustee of the Royal Society of Sculptors.
