Designer and couturier Rahul Mishra has come a long way since winning the International Woolmark Prize in 2014, and is now one of the most sought-after Indian designers, with his collections resonating strongly with international audiences. Most recently, global icon Lisa of BLACKPINK wore Rahul Mishra for her Academy Awards performance. Some of the other celebrities who have been spotted in outfits by the designer include Zendaya, Blake Lively, Rosy Zhao and Fan Bingbing among others.
Yu-Chi Lyra Kuo, tech investor and haute couture and digital art collector, wore a custom ensemble by the designer at Un Ballo in Maschera 2025: The Banquet of Cleopatra. She slipped into a hand-embroidered ‘Queen’s Flower’ corset dress, featuring reverberating visages from Mishra’s Couture Fall collection, Aura.
According to the designer, “The collection ‘Aura’ attempts to comprehend the various characteristics of this energy and its flow within the universe. Each individual is perceived to have an aura that represents their electromagnetic field.”
The garment symbolises the essence of Aura; akin to the electromagnetic field, the radiant gradient silhouette showcases a tonal transition—diffusing from a central core of black to lighter shades of white, mirroring the unseen flow of energy.
Yu-Chi Lyra Kuo shared on her Instagram, “Delighted to win the Most Creative prize and have the opportunity to showcase the brilliance of designers Rahul Mishra with my haute couture mask, hand-embroidered in India over months, and the Oscar de la Renta atelier with my gown from Spring/Summer 2025, paired with Bulgari Serpenti high jewellery. It was so much fun styling this look and seeing everyone’s interpretation of the theme.”
