A new exhibition has opened at Inverness Botanic Gardens, showcasing sculptures made entirely from natural materials found either onsite or in the artist’s home region of Assynt.

Titled ‘Out of the Ground’, the show by sculptor Nigel Goldie runs until the end of September. The works, ranging from powerful outdoor installations to delicate indoor pieces, invite visitors to reconsider nature, form, and human relationships through abstract design.

With a background in academia and social research, Goldie’s work often reflects themes of exclusion, power, and harmony. He has previously exhibited across the Highlands, including at the Isle Martin Seaweed Festival and Lochinver.

This is Goldie’s first exhibition at the Botanic Gardens — a fitting setting for an artist so closely connected to the natural world.
