PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Panama City is asking for the public’s input on what some commissioners believe will become the city’s most significant sculpture.
The sculpture, once completed, will be in front of the new MLK Rec Center that is currently under construction.
Residents will have multiple opportunities to get in their two cents on what they think the sculpture should look like.
Commissioner Janice Lucas says she wants a sculpture that shows a legacy and looks to the future.
“I want it to be representative of the memories that we hold dear to us from the decades of children playing and adults meeting at the Martin Luther King Recreation Center, but I also want it to look to the future. Aspirational and inspirational if you will,” said Lucas.
One of the next opportunities to give feedback will be at the tree giveaway at the Glenwood Marketplace on May 24.
