Went’s Meadow was the setting for a brilliant display on Saturday, November 8, with Owen Rimington’s fire sculpture of a fish making for a brilliant centrepiece.

The Fetch Theatre organised lantern-making workshops in the local primary school and in the community throughout the week, with the lanterns then featuring as part of an impressive, illuminated torch procession from the recycling centre to Went’s Meadow.

Organisers of the event, Sheep Music, said: “This year, Sheep Music commissioned The Fetch Theatre to run lantern-making workshops in the primary school and in the community. The lanterns and the company will be part of the procession alongside local fire artist John Bray.

“We are pleased to be presenting this special evening once again and have received a grant from the town council towards the cost of the fireworks.”

Live music on the night was provided by Fight the Bear, with original music by John Hymas to accompany the fireworks.

Food and refreshments were provided by RJ’s Smoke Shack,  Lockdown Dhaba and Knighton Plaice fish ‘n’ chip shop.

After the event, Sheep Music said: “Thank you to everyone who came to Presteigne fireworks last night.
