The Wyllieum is launching an open call for submissions to its Upstairs Basement gallery.

The call follows the success of previous exhibitions, including Greenock artist Jacqui McKeown’s solo show and Margaret Diamond’s retrospective exhibition.

Jacqui McKeown’s Low Brow, exhibited under the name Angie Gun, showcased themes covering a variety of topics, from Elvis to Millport, and was well received by the public.

Margaret’s exhibition formed part of the Galoshans Festival programme in 2024 and included motorised steak bakes and self-stirring coffee cups.

The Wyllieum, inspired by the quirky artworks and sculptures of the late George Wyllie, is known for providing a platform for local artists, and has firmly established itself as a popular visitor attraction since opening to the public in April last year.

All artists interested in the ‘unique opportunity’ to have their work displayed at the site are encouraged to email questions@wyllieum.com for more details.
