A significant property fire broke out on Charlton Road, Andover, on Dairy Court earlier this afternoon (Sunday 1st June).
Images and reports shared on social media show extensive damage to the roof of a residential building. Smoke and flames were clearly visible from surrounding areas. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene alongside police and ambulance crews.
Residents in the nearby Artists Way estate were advised to keep windows and air vents closed, as winds carried smoke and ash across the area. One post warned:
“Suggest windows and air vents closed for a while.”
Emergency services cordoned off access to the site, and multiple fire engines were seen responding.
No official statements on the cause of the fire or potential injuries have been issued at this time.
