Each year the collective of 125 members make much of the anniversary showcase which is being held for the 75th time and is at the Walsall New Art Gallery in Gallery Square.

The society’s vice chairman Simon Tew, who has been a member for 25 years and likes to paint wildlife, explains: “We are a collection of artists with all sorts of skills and from different backgrounds.

“We aim to encourage everyone to join and have a go. We’re at different standards and are very inclusive because we want to get art out in our Walsall communities.

“The society is celebrating its 75th exhibition this year. Every year we are lucky to be able to hold an exhibition in this gallery.
