The Lucy Pittaway art gallery in Bowness-on-Windermere is now holding a 30 per cent off everything sale after the business announced it would be closing earlier this month.

There are several Lucy Pittaway galleries across the country including at sites such as Richmond, Yarm, York, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Keswick, and Brompton-on-Swale.

However, the Bowness site is not the only gallery that will be closing in the coming weeks.

It was also announced on January 14 that the artist’s gallery in Harrogate will have to close its doors in the coming weeks too.

There is currently no official date set for either gallery’s final opening.

In the original closure announcement statement posted earlier this month to the social media platform Facebook, Lucy Pittaway said that the decision to close the galleries was ‘influenced by the rising operational costs facing so many UK businesses’.

The artist continued: “Our priority right now is supporting the wonderful colleagues affected as we work through the consultation process.

“I am so grateful for their hard work and dedication, and for the support our customers have shown these galleries over the years.

“It truly means the world.”

Ms Pittaway has said that her other galleries located elsewhere are to remain open as usual, alongside standard trading on her website.

Now that both the Bowness and Harrogate galleries have their 30 per cent off everything sales on, the artist had one final message to supporters: “Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your continued support.”
