ALEXANDRIA — Tuesday Night Club will be making their third appearance at the Saturday Art Market on Aug. 23.
They have been playing jazzy background music in the area for over 10 years. Their music draws largely from the timeless tunes of The Great American Songbook.
Current members are Jim Faber, Al Lieffort, and Terry Kennedy. Former St Ben’s music prof Dale White may be able to join on trumpet and Mary Lou Thunselle on vocals.
“We are excited to play at Big Ole Park, one of the best gigs in the area,” the group said in a press release.
The Saturday Art Market is an opportunity for locals and visitors to gather at Big Ole Park on the north end of Broadway in Alexandria every Saturday this summer.
Attendees will be able to visit with local artists and shop their offerings. Coffee and food items will be available near the market and there will be live music every weekend.
The Art Market, which is held next to Alexandria’s Farmer’s Market, runs every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through Aug. 30. Music will run from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each Saturday.
Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
