A Derbyshire sculptor has carved a soldier from a 7ft 3ins (2.2m) wooden log to mark Remembrance Day.
Taking seven weeks to create, Ben Yeates, 43, from Whitwell in Derbyshire, used a chainsaw to transform the log.
The sculpture, called a Soldier’s Tear, is designed to depict a British soldier, known as a ‘Tommy’, with the design taking inspiration from soldiers who fought in World War One and World War Two.
On his creation, Mr Yeates said: “I wanted to do something big that was impressive and create something for people to remember who fought for our freedoms.”
