Starting on February 14, 2026, the Things Fall exhibition will be open from Monday to Saturday, between 10.30am to 5.30pm until April 11, 2026.
Attendees will have the opportunity to view pieces brought together by a collective of 12 artists, all of whom are based in the UK.
This exhibition seeks to challenge viewers’ perceptions and delve into broader notions concerning the role and significance of sculptures.
The artists have been working with unconventional materials and forms that, while playful and seemingly unstable, resist the monumentality typically associated with traditional sculptures.
A statement about the exhibition said: “Playful and unruly, the work is connected by a shared interest in sculptural precarity.
“Often improvisational and made of ordinary everyday materials, their mutable forms are activated with a sense of potential energy that keeps them alive and open to new possibilities.”
The works explore wider ideas about what sculpture is – and what it is for.
The pieces challenge ideas of a traditional monument and riff on versions of ‘antimonumental’ sculpture.
At times, the sculptures resist permanence, solidity, and certainty, embodying fragility, mess, absurdity, and chance.
The show was originally conceived by artist and curator Kate McLeod and developed with Phoenix Gallery curator Matt Burrows to create a critical conversation between artists.
Madi Acharya-Baskerville, Cecile Johnson Soliz, David Kefford, Sandra Lane, Eugene Macki, Kate McLeod, Donna Mitchell, John Plowman, Irina Razumovskaya, Catriona Robertson, Si Sapsford, and Erika Trotsig compose the collection.
