The Knife Angel will visit Newark on April 21 and will remain on display in the town centre for one month.
Crafted from more than 100,000 seized blades, the sculpture serves as a powerful statement against violence and aggression.
It will be the first time the Knife Angel, which was made by the British Ironwork Centre near Oswestry, has visited Nottinghamshire.
Councillor Paul Taylor, portfolio holder for public protection and community relations at Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “The Knife Angel is awe-inspiring, and I hope many residents in Newark and the surrounding areas come to visit this magnificent piece of art.
“It’s an immense privilege to have it in our town and not only is it inspirational, it carries an important message about the dangers of knife crime and a strong anti-violent message.”
During its stay in Newark, programmes of educational awareness activities via schools and community events will take place
Newark becomes the latest stop on the Knife Angel’s National Youth Anti-Violence tour.
The sculpture has now travelled to over 50 cities and towns across the United Kingdom.
The exact location and time of the unveiling will be announced shortly.
