New anchor sculpture unveiled at HMS Caledonia in Rosyth

The Royal Navy and Babcock personnel attended the reveal to mark the base’s entrance.

The project was to replace the weather-worn anchor, a landmark since the 1950s.

The new anchor sculpture (Image: Royal Navy) Babcock engineers and fabricators from the Rosyth dockyard designed and built a new anchor crafted the steel structure, and added finishing touches.

The sculpture sits on the existing plinth at Caledonia’s entrance.

The old anchor sculpture (Image: Royal Navy) Lieutenant Commander Morgan McDonald said: “These anchors have long stood as a prominent symbol of Caledonia’s Naval traditions and history.

“Babcock’s skilled team have done a fantastic job at crafting new modern replacements.

“These will stand as a testament to the strong links between Babcock and the RN whilst preserving our proud Naval traditions here in Caledonia.”
