A giant penguin sculpture has been unveiled at Edinburgh Zoo as part of a new themed playpark.
The 4.9-metre-tall structure, which weighs around four tonnes, forms the centrepiece of a bespoke penguin-themed play area created by KOMPAN for the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS).

Built from natural Robinia hardwood, the penguin structure is intended to encourage open-ended play and exploration.
Interactive features include an optic panel, tic-tac-toe panel, music panel, drawing wall and talk tubes.
Zoo staff said the features are designed to help children communicate, engage their senses and self-regulate in an inclusive environment.
The playpark was funded by the Nancie Massey Charitable Trust.
