The Harlow Cultural Enabler Grants, launched by Harlow Council with support from Arts Council England, will fund artistic projects and cultural activities across the town.
The programme aims to help artists develop their ideas, deliver high-quality cultural experiences, and grow their creative practices with grants ranging from £500 to £25,000.
Two types of grants are available: microgrants of £500 to £7,000, and larger enabler grants of £7,000 to £25,000. The funding will support developing artistic ideas, high quality cultural delivery in Harlow, and growing creative practice.
Cllr Danielle Brown, cabinet member for culture and community, said: “Harlow has an extraordinary creative spirit – one that has shaped our past and will define our future.
“These grants are not just about funding projects; they’re about believing in our local artists, giving them space to thrive, and celebrating the imagination that makes this town so special. I’m incredibly proud that we can offer real support to the talented individuals who bring colour, energy, and identity to Harlow.
“Their ideas are the heartbeat of our community, and I can’t wait to see what they create. Together, we’re building a town where creativity is everywhere as we Build Harlow’s Future.”
The council said the funding is part of its vision to make Harlow a cultural capital of the East of England by 2028, aiming to become a modern, inclusive town “where extraordinary art is everywhere”.
The council believes the grants will help Harlow continue its long-standing tradition of supporting creativity as a vital part of community life. Applications are open now until April 30, 2026, and more information is available at selfserve.harlow.gov.uk/service/Cultural_grant.
