Pride Parade and Festival (Saturday)
The Rochester Pride Parade and Festival returns on Saturday, celebrating the local LGBTQ+ community. The Festival is set to take place at Highland Park with music, vendors, and activities. Last year, the parade and festival drew a record 20,000 people – making it the largest Pride celebration in Rochester’s history.
The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at the intersection of South Avenue and Science Parkway. It will travel north on South Avenue and end at the festival grounds in the southern portion of Highland Park. State Assembly Member Harry Bronson and Rev. Myra Brown are this year’s honorary marshals.
The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with music performances throughout the day, over 100 vendors, and 20 food trucks. Tickets are required. General admission tickets are $5 and children 12 and under are free. You can get tickets here.
The main entrance to the festival is at 1440 South Avenue, but there are two more entrances, one near the Lilac Adventure Zone off Highland Avenue and another along the path from Elmwood Avenue.
Pride at The Little Theatre and Water Street Music Hall (Friday and Saturday)
Highland Park isn’t the only place celebrating Pride this weekend. There will be dance parties celebrating Pride at Water Street Music Hall. They’re from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Tickets can be purchased on its website.
The Little Theatre on East Avenue is holding a Pride Week Film Screening of Love & Revolution on Friday. It’s happening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are free, but donations are welcome. Anyone interested is encouraged to reserve their tickets.

Some of the demonstrations include glass flaming, candle making, woodworking, and painting. Artists will display their work on Main Street. In addition, all are invited to help paint a Ford Pickup, which will remain on display through September.
The festival will run from noon to 7 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. You can see a map of the festival and a guide to the artists here.
