A new monthly arts market is set to launch in a County Durham town.

The Shoreside Arts Market will take place on the first Saturday of each month, beginning Saturday, March 7, at Spectrum Business Park in Seaham.

Hosted in the covered area beneath Shoreside Art Studios at 2 Lighthouse View workspace, the event promises a mix of creative energy and community spirit, offering visitors a space to explore, shop, and enjoy refreshments.

Organisers said: “We want to put Seaham and the artists who live and work here on the map.

“Join us in celebrating Seaham’s creative spirit – see you at the Shoreside Arts Market.”

The market will feature a variety of stalls from artists, makers, and craftspeople, including ceramics, jewellery, prints, textiles, and homewares.

Visitors will have the chance to meet the makers, learn about their creative processes, and purchase items directly from the source.

The launch comes as part of a wider effort to grow Seaham’s cultural scene and follows other creative initiatives such as the Shoreside Arts Trail, Shoreside Studios, and the Shoreside Festival.

Organisers are hoping to see the return of the Shoreside Festival to Seaham seafront later this year.

The market aims to become a regular feature in the town’s calendar, enhancing its reputation as an emerging arts hub in County Durham.
