Greenville-based artist Sarah Kern blends emotional depth with vibrant creativity, crafting work that reflects both her Atlanta roots and a passion for community connection.

Inspired by travel, joyful places and energy-filled experiences, Kern channels those moments into her watercolor and ink creations — mediums she says she loves for their fluid nature and contemplative rhythm. Larger watercolor pieces can take four months or more to complete, a testament to the care she pours into each detail.

Since her college years, Kern has sold work through Westside Market in both Atlanta and Greenville and frequently takes part in local artisan markets like Evergreen Christmas Traditions at Aaron Farms.

She continues to find balance between the demands of creating and running a business, and her work is also featured at Wild Hare Gallery in Travelers Rest, Good Art Co., and several Westside Market locations. She shares upcoming events and artwork regularly through Instagram @sk.art99.

Her advice to emerging artists is simple but powerful — plug into your local community. “One of the reasons I moved to Greenville was the artist community,” Kern says. “When you think you’ve met everybody, there’s another 100 artists to meet.”
