A major exhibition titled Inner City Dreamers will open in Old Town at OINK Gallery on Friday, September 6, showcasing original works and limited edition prints from some of the UK’s leading street and modern artists, including Mul, Prefab77, KMG, Penfold, and Sweet Toof.

The exhibition celebrates urban art and marks another milestone in Swindon’s growing street art movement, which has gained momentum since the launch of Swindon Paint Fest in 2022.

Mark Pepperall, founder of OINK Gallery, said: “This project is about more than an exhibition.

“It’s about linking Old Town into Swindon’s growing art story and creating a lasting landmark for the community.”

One of the exhibition’s highlights will be a public art piece by acclaimed artist Penfold, who will transform a previously blank Swindog sculpture into a colourful, permanent feature for Old Town.

The sculpture, purchased by the Old Town Business Association following Swindon’s 2023 Big Dog Art Trail, was made possible through the support of sponsors Domino’s, Los Gatos, Charles Harding, and Deacons.

Kris Talikowski, chair of the Old Town Business Association, said: “Mark has brought some of the best artists in the country to Old Town and built a genuine audience for modern work.

“Inner City Dreamers continues that legacy.”

The exhibition will kick off with a lively weekend of street art and music.

All five featured artists will take to the streets of Old Town for live painting sessions, creating new murals and adding to the growing collection of public art in the area.

Inside the gallery, DJs will perform on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September, turning the space into a vibrant hub of creativity and community spirit.

Mul, one of the artists featured in the show, has previously collaborated with brands such as Guinness and Red Bull, and has contributed to Ant & Dec’s charity partnership with Cash for Kids.

Penfold’s transformation of the Swindog sculpture is set to become a standout piece of public art in Old Town.

Founded nine years ago by Mr Pepperall, OINK Gallery has established itself as a key destination for contemporary and urban art in Swindon.

The space also houses a design agency and interior styling studio on Victoria Road.

Inner City Dreamers is expected to be one of the gallery’s most ambitious exhibitions to date.
