Triton Galleries, which has moved into 68-69 High Street in Taunton, may be recognised by many in town as it’s actually the new face of the Surridge Gallery, which recently closed.
The new gallery has a slick silver sign and features a range of artwork with different art styles.

A decision was made not to renew the lease at the Surridge Gallery after it expired last month.
Holding a place in Taunton town centre for over 10 years, the Surridge Gallery called time on its stay at 6 North Street with a sale of up to 75% off on stock.

The gallery sold limited edition work from some reputable artists, including L.S Lowry, Andy Warhol, Beryl Cook, and even Winston Churchill.
Triton Galleries’ Commercial Director, Anne Craib, spoke to the County Gazette on the new art gallery opening on the High Street.
Anne said: “The reaction to the gallery opening up has been wonderful, I’d have to say. People are delighted to see such an inspirational space in Taunton.
“There’s something for everyone in this gallery, whether you’re looking for contemporary or traditional artwork. The feedback has been really excellent.
“We’ve relocated to a better location (High Street), the only reason we had to move is that we came to the end of our lease, we had a premises on North Street for over 10 years and decided that we wanted to move a bit further into town.”
