Contemporary art is heading somewhere unexpected in 2026: the dancefloor.

A new cultural programme from The Night League (TNL) and W1 Curates is bringing museum-level contemporary art into nightlife venues across London and Ibiza this summer, turning clubs into some of the most widely viewed art spaces in the world.

Together, the programme indicates a broader shift in how contemporary art is shared. Rather than waiting for audiences to enter traditional spaces, organisers are bringing art to places where millions already gather. Clever!

The collaboration launches this year with works from British conceptual art pioneer Michael Craig-Martin and Portuguese urban artist Vhils. Their installations will debut across TNL’s world famous clubs, including Hï Ibiza and [UNVRS].

Craig-Martin will open the programme with a site-specific digital exhibition at Hï Ibiza’s permanent art gallery – a digital canvas that made headlines last year as the world’s first nightclub-integrated gallery.

The immersive installation draws on more than two decades of the artist’s work exploring musical instruments and everyday tech objects, from headphones to iPhones, rendered in his signature bright colours and crisp line drawings.

It’s exciting because digital work needs scale,” Craig-Martin said. “A club like Hï Ibiza provides exactly that, a place where people can encounter art unexpectedly.”

Meanwhile, Vhils, known for carving portraits directly into walls and urban surfaces, will unveil a monumental mural at sister-club, [UNVRS]. The 68-square-metre artwork is etched directly into the building’s façade using his distinctive ‘subtractive carving’ technique.

The project is part of Vhils’ long-running Scratching the Surface series, which explores identity and collective memory embedded in urban environments. Another cool touch to the new hotspot.

Across London and Ibiza, the initiative reaches an estimated 182.5 million visitors annually. As if you guys didn’t need another reason to hit the dancefloor, TNL has gone and given you another.
