Recognised for bringing the likes of Andy Warhol and Paul McCarthy into China, this 27-year-old art collector and socialite has been lighting up the art scene since the opening of his gallery, X Museum, in Beijing last year. Huang began building up his dazzling collection aged just 20 after his parents gifted him with $5,000 of modern art for his birthday – from there, the buzz continued. Aside from Haung’s celebrated eye being the talk of the art world, the collector’s name swirled in newspapers after he was conned by renowned fraudster Anna Delvey, who tricked him into booking her a luxurious hotel room for the Venice Biennale – then failed to pay him back until a year and a half later.
