Walking on Eggshells, the debut solo show by artist Emma Lynne Harley, will be performed at Paisley Arts Centre on Friday, May 22.
Described as a blend of autobiographical theatre, cabaret, stand-up, scientific research, and pop music, the production is an exploration of lived experience and healing.
Audience members can expect a “musical rollercoaster” as the show explores a range of ideas including brain chemistry as a form of time travel and the cultural imprint of pop music.
Speaking about the production, Emma Lynne Harley said: “Walking on Eggshells is incredibly silly by design.
“The very first cabaret seed which became this show was from the perspective of a crazy chick with a whole host of songs about being madly, irrationally in love, and all sorts of toxic relationships – they’re very easy to find.
“It just so happened that I had my own personal experience of PTSD following an emotionally abusive relationship that went on to become a narrative structure.
“Scientific and psychological research has practically supported the making of this show as well as taking its own structural pillar within W.O.E.
“In a very digestible and fun way, from the structural engineering of eggs through to the physics of PTSD time travel.”

Walking on Eggshells is a co-production between Scissor Kick and the award-winning Siren Theatre Company.
Stephanie Katie Hunter, producer for Scissor Kick, said: “Throughout Scissor Kick’s 2026 season, I believe we are truly honing in on what makes a show a Scissor Kick show.
“Emma’s ability to turn trauma into a digestible, hilarious, and fun experience through Walking on Eggshells is one of the many reasons why this show is a must-see.”
